Naturalists Gate, resides the bust of Alexander von Humboldt.
This prominent German naturalist and explorer made great contributions to physical geography and biogeography.
He popularized science with his book Kosmos, an ambitious undertaking that took him the last 25 years of his life to write. Spanning four volumes it explores the structure of the universe.
